Tamil Nadu: Rain likely in 12 districts in the next 2 hours

Tamil Nadu: The Chennai Meteorological Department has issued a fresh weather alert for Tamil Nadu. According to the department, rainfall is expected in 12 districts of the state within the next two hours. The Meteorological Department also stated that a weather system in the Bay of Bengal may cause thunderstorms and strong winds in many areas.

According to the Meteorological Department, the deep depression formed in the southwest Bay of Bengal and the adjacent west-central Bay of Bengal is still active and remains a low-pressure area in the region. Due to this weather system, the weather is rapidly changing in many districts of Tamil Nadu, and rainfall activity is expected to increase.

Due to this weather change, heavy rainfall is expected at one or two places in Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Coimbatore, and the Nilgiris districts. Thunderstorms and lightning are also possible in these areas. The Meteorological Department has stated that strong winds, with speeds of up to 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, are also possible in these districts.

The Chennai Meteorological Department had already issued a general warning for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal regions, predicting light rain and thundershowers at some locations. According to the latest update, the weather conditions appear to be becoming more active.

The department has also issued a warning specifically for Tiruvarur and Thanjavur districts. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in these two districts over the next two hours, until 10 a.m. This is expected to bring a slight drop in local temperatures and increase humidity.

Weather experts say that due to this low-pressure system forming in the Bay of Bengal, the weather in South Tamil Nadu and surrounding areas is remaining unstable. The intensity of the rain may increase in the coming hours, and some areas may experience sudden heavy downpours.

The Meteorological Department has urged people to remain vigilant, especially in areas where heavy rain and strong winds are expected. Farmers and fishermen have also been advised to exercise caution in view of the weather conditions.

Overall, the weather in several districts of Tamil Nadu is expected to change rapidly over the next few hours, with rain and strong winds expected, which is likely to impact daily life and traffic.
