Niladriprasad GP ADEO Rakesh Kumar Sahoo lands in Vigilance scanner
Khurda: Rakesh Kumar Sahoo, the Accountant & Data Entry Operator (ADEO) of Niladriprasad Grama Panchayat under Banapur police station limits of Khruda district landed in Odisha Vigilance scanner after he was caught while demanding and taking bribe.
The Vigilance sleuths apprehended Sahoo while he was demanding and taking a bribe of Rs 6,000 from a tribal beneficiary of the housing scheme (Antyodaya Gruha Yojana) of the Government in lieu of release of 1st instalment of amount Rs 40,000 in favour of the complt towards construction of a house under Antyodaya Gruha Yojana.
Sahoo demanded the bribe and threatened to withhold the release of the 2nd instalment if the same was not paid. The complainant, left with no option, reported before Vigilance authorities narrating his harassment.
Following the complain, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed the ADEO today while taking the bribe from the complainant. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of the ADEO and seized.
Following the trap, searches are going on at two locations connected to Sahoo from Disproportionate Assets (DA) angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No. 22 dtd. 25.09.2025 U/s 7 P.C. Act, (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered.
Investigation is in progress against Sahoo.
