Police personnel should work with the goal of free elections’

Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt has advised the police officers and personnel to work in coordination to ensure a free and fair election in Khammam district. The CP participated in an awareness program organized by the Khammam Rural Police at the Kisan Function Hall to educate the police personnel conducting election security in the context of the Gram Panchayat elections on election duties, procedures, election code of conduct, maintenance of law and order, etc. They should work under the control of the Election Commission and abide by discipline. He clarified that a comprehensive understanding of the election code of conduct should be established and no mistakes should be made. He said that the code of conduct will be in force until the end of the election process. He advised them to carry out the assigned responsibilities effectively and to be strict in terms of law and order.
He said that the Election Commission is taking strict measures to stop the influence of money and liquor in the elections. He said that static surveillance teams, flying squad teams, border check posts, route mobile parties, should be fully aware of the duties they perform before the elections, on polling day and during the counting of votes. Similarly, all precautionary measures should be taken to prevent any untoward incidents during election meetings and meetings. He ordered that police patrolling should be intensified in the villages without any conflict and that the sale of liquor should be controlled in belt shops.
