Tamil Nadu: The party’s state president, M.H. Jawahirullah, has said that they have requested the DMK to allocate five seats to the Humanity People’s Party in the upcoming assembly elections.
The 18th anniversary of the Humanity People’s Party was inaugurated on Saturday at the party headquarters in Mannady, Chennai. Party state president M.H. Jawahirullah participated in the event, hoisting the party flag and paying his respects.
Following this, M.H. Jawahirullah told reporters:
The Manithaneya Makkal Katchi will contest the assembly elections as part of the DMK-led alliance. We have requested the DMK to allocate five winnable seats to the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi.
Similarly, Muslim candidates from parties like the IUML, DMK, Congress, and VVIP, which are part of the DMK alliance, should also be given seats in a manner that ensures their representation.
Furthermore, a case regarding contesting under a separate election symbol is pending in the Chennai High Court. A decision on contesting the assembly elections under a separate symbol will be made based on the court’s verdict, he added.
