BPCL’s fourth quarter profit fell by 24%

New Delhi New Delhi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Tuesday announced a 24% decline in March quarter. The company’s standalone net profit was Rs 3,214.06 crore, down from Rs 4,224.18 crore in the same period last year. The reason for this loss is said to be loss on the sale of domestic cooking gas (LPG) and reduction in refining margin.

BPCL said that it sold LPG at a price lower than the cost of production, due to which it suffered a loss of Rs 3,217.82 crore in this quarter. This loss amounted to Rs 10,446.38 crore in the full financial year 2025. Apart from this, the company’s refining margin declined from $ 14.14 per barrel in FY24 to $ 6.82 now.

The company said that without government subsidy, the loss on LPG sales will continue. BPCL posted a net profit of Rs 13,275.26 crore for this fiscal year, as against a record profit of Rs 26,673.50 crore last year.
