1 arrested with banned foreign e-cigarette
Haryana: A joint team of CM Flying Squad and local police raided a pan and cigarette kiosk in Sector 82 area here and arrested the kiosk owner after seizing a huge quantity of banned e-cigarettes and foreign cigarettes.
According to CM Flying Squad Sub-Inspector Madan Singh, they had received information that banned foreign and e-cigarettes were being sold and supplied at a kiosk located in Sector 82.
A joint team was formed and the shop was raided late on Wednesday evening. There the shop owner, Vimlesh Kumar, a native of Madhepura district of Bihar, was found.
“A large quantity of foreign and e-cigarettes were kept on the counter. He was asked to produce the license and documents related to his occupation, but he could not produce it. The team seized more than 100 packets of e-cigarettes and other foreign cigarettes of different brands from the kiosk,” the sub-inspector said.
An FIR was lodged against Vimlesh at Khedki Daula police station under sections 4 and 7 of the Cigarettes Act and section 20 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act. Police said they are interrogating the accused and trying to nab his accomplice, identified as Ajay from Hisar.
