108 Ambulance Service Now Available on WhatsApp: Get Instant Emergency Help

Tamil Nadu: A special feature has been launched to access the emergency 108 ambulance service via WhatsApp.
Public Health Minister M. Subramaniam launched it for public use on Thursday at a function held at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai.
In Tamil Nadu, the 108 ambulance service is operated by EMRI Green Health Services. A total of 1,353 ambulances operate across the state.
Of these, 303 are equipped with life-saving medical facilities. Additionally, over 40 two-wheeled ambulances operate to cover hilly and rough terrain.
Over 7,000 personnel are employed there. According to reports, the control room receives over 10,000 calls daily. In metropolitan areas, ambulances arrive at the scene within 6.59 minutes, in urban areas within 9.40 minutes, and in rural areas within 11.31 minutes.
In hilly areas, this service is reportedly available within 13.18 minutes.
To further reduce this time, a facility for accessing ambulance service has been launched via WhatsApp number ‘94450 30725’.
Accordingly, when you send ‘Hi’ to that number via WhatsApp, you will receive a link labeled ‘Book Ambulance’. This will not only allow you to avail of ambulance service but also provide your real-time location accurately to the ambulance control room.
The ambulance number and driver’s mobile number will be sent to the concerned person via text message. Additionally, the ambulance’s location, route, and estimated arrival time will be displayed on the mobile phone.
It is reported that this will make ambulance service faster than before.
