11 accused including 5 bookies arrested, Raipur SSP disclosed the exploits

Raipur. 11 accused including 5 bookies have been arrested. Disclosing the matter, the SSP said that Arun Jal lodged a report at the police station Khamtarai that he lives in Trimurti Nagar Raipur and does welding work. The applicant’s wife Sangeeta Jal used to work in Rajat Agarwal’s house last 01 year ago, due to which the applicant was identified with Rajat Agarwal. Rajat Agarwal met the applicant about 02 months ago near Waltier Gate DRM office and said that he urgently needed a bank account in which he would return it after doing the transaction for a few days. Then the applicant trusting him gave his PAN card, Aadhaar card, passport size photo as told and Rajat Agarwal brought the form of FDFC Bank Devendra Nagar and signed the applicant, Rajat Agarwal opened the applicant’s bank account and his wife Sangeeta Jal also opened the same. Thus, he opened an account in HDFC Bank and later kept the account’s passbook, ATM card with him and Rajat Agarwal also got the mobile number inserted in the accounts, whose number was inserted, nothing was told to the applicant in this regard. Meanwhile, after a few days, Rajat Aggarwal informed the applicant about the closure of his bank account. On which the applicant went to HDFC Bank Devendra Nagar branch and found out, then the bank manager was told to stop the transaction of excessive money in his account, on which the applicant asked Rajat Agarwal about the transactions done in the said bank accounts, then Rajat Agarwal avoided – Began to be fattened. In this way, by opening the bank account of the applicant and his wife, Rajat Agarwal cheated the applicant and his wife by misusing the account without their knowledge and earning profit by doing transaction/withdrawal of money. On which crime number 685/23 Section 420 Bhadvi was registered against the accused Rajat Agarwal in police station Khamtarai. Offense was registered.

Under the direction of senior officers, 08 accused Rajat Aggarwal, Himanshu Singh, Mantu Manjhi, Madan Kumar Yadav, Moh. Farhan, Mohd. Umair, Upendra Das and Mohit Tank were arrested and cash related to the incident Rs.14,44,000/-, 21 nos. mobile phones, 05 nos. passbooks, 12 nos. ATMs were seized from their possession. Card, 12 nos check book, 03 nos laptop, 02 nos computer system and 03 nos diary Jumla worth about Rs 22,00,000/- have been seized.

On interrogating the arrested accused in relation to the other accused involved in the case, the accused told that online betting is being conducted by their other accomplices in Nagpur Maharashtra as well. On which the team members were sent to Nagpur Maharashtra under the direction of senior officers, after reaching Nagpur Maharashtra, the team members traced the accused and arrested the other 11 accused involved in the case and from their possession 30 mobile phones related to the incident. 02 laptops, sim cards of different companies and 02 nos passbooks of different banks, 38 nos checkbooks and 38 nos A.T.M. Action was taken against the accused by seizing the Jumla card worth about Rs.4,00,000/-.

Along with making detailed inquiries about the other accused involved in the case from the arrested accused, as well as detailed investigation of the bank accounts and accounts of the holders of the bank accounts used for the transaction of money, if their involvement is found in the case. Action will also be taken against the individuals.
