12 dreaded criminals arrested by Berhampur police with firearms and ammunition

Berhampur: In a major breakthrough, Berhampur Police has arrested a total of 12 dreaded criminals and recovered firearms and ammunition from their possessions.

As part of its special drive against illegal arms in Ganjam district, police conducted raids in different areas under Berhampur Sadar, Nimakhandi, and Digapahandi police stations and arrested the 12 accused persons.

The arrested persons have been identified as Bhalu Samal, Lingaraj Samal, Satyaban Das, K. Prasad Rao, Mantu Gouda, Rakesh Padhi, Partha Das, Ranjan Nayak, Ashok Kumar Panigrahy, Tuna Nayak, Sangham Panigrahy and Ajit Sethi.

Police also seized 6 pistols, 12 live bullets, 5 swords, 1 crowbar and seven mobile phones from the possessions of the arrested persons.

Police also informed that the accused persons have several criminal records as several cases are pending against them at different police stations.
