125 cases were sent to Odisha Vigilance for investigation in 9 months.

Odisha: Around 125 cases were referred to the Odisha Vigilance Department for investigation between April 1 and December 31, 2025.

This was revealed today at a review meeting of the Vigilance Department chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The state government stated, “Odisha Vigilance was asked to investigate a record 125 cases between April 1 and December 31 last year.”

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated that the state government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, which has encouraged the Odisha Vigilance Department to take action against corrupt officials.

The Chief Minister has asked the Vigilance Department to continue its action against tainted officials to make Odisha a corruption-free state. The Vigilance Department filed cases against 53 Class-I officers in 2025.

The Vigilance Department previously reported that it had filed cases against 53 Class-I officers, including an IAS officer, in 2025 for amassing disproportionate assets, bribery, and misappropriation of government funds.

During the year, Vigilance registered a total of 202 criminal cases, including 49 cases of disproportionate assets, and detected assets worth approximately ₹120 crore (approximately $1.2 billion) in excess of known sources of income.

Ninety-seven trap cases were registered, in which 114 people, including 105 government officials, were caught demanding and accepting bribes.

Vigilance also seized 153 buildings, 714 plots, 12 farmhouses, 18.3 kg of gold, bank deposits worth ₹36.69 crore, and ₹8.81 crore (approximately $8.81 billion) in cash during 2025.
