13 held in Kolar murder case, two minors shot at
KOLAR: On Thursday morning in Devarayasamudra near Mulbagal, two underage boys were shot at when they made an aggressive move toward a police team that had come to apprehend them in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old PU college student in Kolar on November 3.
The police team successfully arrested 13 individuals, which included eight minors, as confirmed by Central Range Inspector-General of Police BR Ravikanthe Gowda during a press briefing in Kolar. Notable among the arrested suspects were Sonu, also known as Srinivas, Prashanth, and Udhaya Kumar.
Gowda clarified that the two minors who sustained gunshot wounds to their legs were subsequently admitted to a hospital. These minors had attempted to attack a police officer and constables who had cornered them, prompting the law enforcement personnel to resort to self-defense by firing their weapons.
He further explained that the operation was carried out under the supervision of Kolar Superintendent of Police M Narayana. The motive behind the murder is believed to be a longstanding feud between the main suspect and the college student, stemming from a romantic rivalry over a girl.
