15 detained for setting police station on fire in Kandhamal

Kandhamal: Tension continues to escalate in Phiringia Police station following a clash between the police and a group of people.

A case under section 144 of the IPC has been registered in this regard. Over 15 people involved in this incident have been arrested by the police. The attacker from the group has also been identified.

According to available reports, irate locals set the Phiringia Police Station on fire yesterday. They alleged that the police are involved with the rampant ganja mafia.

Reportedly, they also demanded strict action against the Inspector-In-Charge and two other associates. Further details awaited.
