16 Telia Borei fishes worth about Rs 18 lakh caught in Paradip

Paradip: Fishermen in Paradip on Tuesday netted 16 rare ‘Telia Borai’ fish, estimated to be worth around Rs 18 lakh. According to reports, 16 Telia Borei fishes caught from a trawler named Parbati were sent for sale to Digha in the neighboring state of West Bengal as these fish fetch better prices in Digha than in Paradip. Telia Borei is a valuable fish. whose intestines contain abundant amounts of oil, which is often exported and used to make medicines.
