17 shops burnt down, chaos created in the market after the fire
Chhindwara: A fire broke out in the shops of Manihari market in Junnardev of Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh on Friday morning. Within no time it took over the nearby shops. In this way 16 shops were burnt to ashes. Seeing the flames and smoke, the local people informed the police and municipality.
Fire brigades of Junnardev and Damua, Parasia, Barkui and Newton municipalities reached the spot. The team brought the fire under control with the help of local people. In this fire, goods worth lakhs of rupees belonging to traders were burnt to ashes.
Junnardev SDM Neha Soni said that after receiving information about the fire, the entire police force and municipality staff reached there. We also called fire brigades from nearby municipalities. The fire was brought under control with the help of 6-7 fire brigades and the public.
He told that fifteen to sixteen shops have been damaged. The damage caused in the fire is being ascertained. Under whatever provision is there, the Revenue Department team has reached the spot. As per rules, immediate assistance will also be given.
Recently, a fire broke out in a firecracker shop in Anekal, Bengaluru. About 13 people died in this. Many people also got burnt. Three fire tenders reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The Karnataka government had announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives in this incident.
Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar had said that the government will provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives in this incident. This incident happened late on 7th October i.e. Saturday night while taking firecrackers to the shop in a goods vehicle.
