2 accused of murder in Balangir escaped from jail by climbing the boundary wall
Bhubaneswar. Two prisoners involved in separate murder cases escaped from Titilagarh sub-jail in Odisha’s Balangir district by climbing the boundary wall. The officers provided this information. The escaped prisoners have been identified as Shobhaban Rana, 28, and Sumeet Bihari, 23. Rana is facing trial in a human sacrifice case in 2018 in Sindhekela area of the district. Sumeet was in jail for the last two years for murdering a minor by throwing him in a well. State prison department officials said an investigation has been launched to find out the lapses and the persons responsible for Saturday’s prison escape. After registering the case on the complaint of Titilagarh jail authorities, the local police has also started a search operation to nab the escaped prisoners.
