2 bike riders killed after being hit by truck on Banur Landra Road
Mohali. Two people riding a bike died after being hit by a speeding car on Banur Landra Road. Police have registered a case against the accused truck driver, who has been identified as Ram Babu, a resident of Chhapra, Bihar. Those who lost their lives in this accident have been identified by I.T. City resident Harjeet Singh alias Kaka (40) and his partner Gurmejar Singh (36) both used to do electrical work together in partnership. According to the information, Major Singh and Harjeet Singh used to support their family by doing electrical work. When he left his house at around 5 pm to go to work on his bike.
Outside village Tangauri, a truck coming from Landra hit their bike and crushed both of them. This accident was so terrible that the container driver dragged the two youths riding a bike to a distance, due to which they were badly crushed and they died on the spot. The truck driver fled from the spot after the accident. After this accident, all the people of the village reached the spot. Police reached the spot and sent the body to Mohali hospital for post-mortem and started further action by taking possession of the vehicles. Villagers said that the deceased Harjeet Singh had left behind his wife and 11 year old son while Gurmajor Singh was still unmarried.
