20 trams of Mahua liquor seized
Raigarh. In view of the Assembly General Election-2023, Collector Karthikeya Goyal has instructed the Excise Department to take strict action against the transportation and manufacturing of illegal liquor in Raigarh district and surrounding Odisha border areas. In this series, a joint action of the excise officials of the border districts of Raigarh and Orissa states has achieved great success and 4 thousand kilograms of Mahua Lahan and 255 liters of illegal liquor have been seized.
Giving information, Assistant Commissioner of Excise, Raigarh said that today Excise Range and Station Incharge Circle Inspector of Belpahar Vijay Prakash Tirkey and Circle Inspector of Mobile Unit Jharsuguda Kshitis Das, Devendra Prahlad and Raigarh District in the border area of Odisha on the banks of Belaria Nala of the district. A joint raid was conducted by Excise sub-inspector Abel Khalkho and excise constables Tuleshwar Rathore and Lal Singh in which a total of 4 thousand kilograms of fermented wash (Mahua Lahan) in 20 drums and 60 sacks and a total of 255 liters of illegal distilled liquor were seized. .
