20 years imprisonment to man guilty of raping teenage girl
Sonipat. Additional District and Sessions Judge Suruchi Atreja Singh has sentenced 20 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 60 thousand to the accused of raping a neighboring teenager. Out of the fine amount, Rs 50 thousand has been ordered to be given to the victim.
In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to face additional punishment of one and a half years. A woman resident of Gannaur police station area had complained to the police on May 25, 2022 that her husband drives a car.

His 15 year old daughter remained silent for many days. She often complained of stomach pain. When asked on May 25 about her daughter’s absence, she told that Sunil, who lives in the neighbourhood, had committed wrongdoing to her on April 10, 2022. After hearing the case, ASJ Suruchi Atreja Singh found Sunil guilty and sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment and Rs 50,000 fine under six POCSO Act charges and seven years imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine under the threatening section.
