20 years jail for raping a minor

Visakhapatnam: A 19-year-old man in Vizianagaram, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping a minor girl. The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 4,000 on the convict and ordered him to pay Rs 5 lakh in compensation to the victim.

The victim, a Class IX student, was stalked and threatened by the accused, Botsa Kamesh. Kamesh repeatedly raped the girl, resulting in her pregnancy. When she confronted him about the pregnancy, he denied responsibility and refused to marry her.

The victim and her mother then filed a complaint with the police, who investigated the case and the police filed a charge sheet in court.
