248 animals were treated and 71 animals were treated for infertility in animal breeding and awareness workshop
Mahasamund: A one-day awareness workshop was organized under the Livestock Awareness Campaign on last Saturday in Gauthan Kudaribahra of Basna development block of Mahasamund district, which is one of the aspirational districts of Chhattisgarh. This event was organized under the joint aegis of Livestock Development Department of Central and Chhattisgarh Government and Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu University, Durg.
More than 150 cattle herders participated in the camp. In the first part of the workshop, in the morning, free veterinary medicine cum infertility camp, animal treatment was given to 248 deworming animals, 148 deworming medicines were given to 146 animals and infertility treatment was done to 71 animals.
In the second phase of the workshop, a workshop was organized for the cattle rearers from 12 noon in which more than 150 cattle rearers registered their participation. The said workshop was organized by Director Extension Service Dr. Sanjay Shakya from Kamdhenu University, Durg and Professor Dr. MK Awasthi, Female Animal Disease. While addressing the Department of Obstetrics, it advised the cattle owners to protect their animals from infertility and advised them to provide balanced feed to the animals 2 months before giving birth and to give deworming medicine to the cows immediately after giving birth.
Deputy Director of Livestock Development Department, Dr RS Pandey, while addressing the cattle rearers, advised them to make animal husbandry an additional source of income. In the said camp, public representatives of village Kudaribahara, subject experts of Kamdhenu University, subject experts of Livestock Development Department and all the field staff were present.
