28-yr-old pregnant woman dies in road mishap after auto hits her

Ankola : A-28-year old pregnant woman was killed in a road accident after a moving auto hit her at Bhavikere of Ankola here on Thursday, April 13.

The deceased is identified as Shobha Gopal Nayaka, who was said to be in her fourth month of her pregnancy.

The accident occurred when Shobha along with her husband were walking on the roadside in front of their residence. The accident took place as the auto driver lost control over his vehicle and hit the victim as he was said to be driving in a rash and a negligent manner. She succumbed to her injury.

It is said that the auto driver fled the scene of the accident with his vehicle. A case has been registered at Ankola police station.
