3 Bangladeshi tourists died

Srinagar: Three tourists from Bangladesh died after their houseboat caught fire overnight in Srinagar’s Dal Lake.

Officials had earlier said the fire had been brought under control and there were no reports of any casualties.

However, official sources later said that bodies of three Bangladeshi tourists were recovered from Dal Lake after five houseboats were gutted in an overnight fire.

Reports say the tourists were staying in ‘Safena’ houseboat on Dal Lake, which was completely destroyed in the fire along with four other houseboats.

Officials said the exact cause of the fire is being ascertained.
