3 children drowned in the river during Durga idol immersion, sensation spread in the area
Patna. Three children, who had gone to the river bank for idol immersion in Maner police station area under Danapur sub-division adjacent to Patna, drowned in the deep waters of river Ganga. As soon as information about the incident was received, people nearby rushed towards the spot. SDRF team and divers have been deployed to search for the missing child. According to the information received regarding the incident, a (small) idol of Maa Durga was installed in Vyapur village of Maner police station area on the occasion of Dussehra. The immersion of the statue was to take place yesterday i.e. on Tuesday. But due to some reason the immersion could not take place on Tuesday.
Today i.e. on Wednesday the entire process of idol immersion was started. At around 2.30 pm, the children of Vyapur village, cheering along with the idol, moved towards the Vyapur river and started immersing the idol. Meanwhile, two children lost their balance in the river and started drowning in the river. Seeing this the third child also jumped into the river. Giving information about the incident, Danapur ASP Abhinav Dhiman said that three children who had come to Vyapur river for idol immersion are missing. SDRF team and divers have been deployed to search for them.
