3 Members of a Family Killed in Road Accident in Nabarangpur, Mother and Son Injured
Nabarangpur: In a tragic incident, at least three members of a family were killed while two others were critically injured in a horrendous road accident in Nabarangpur district of Odisha on Sunday. The incident took place near Deobharandi in Raighar block.
The deceased have been identified as Babulal Ganda, his sons Pradeep Ganda and Tushar Ganda.
According to reports, a truck was coming from Raighar towards Kundei on State Highway 40 when it hit a bike in which the family was travelling.
There were five people on the bike — a father, mother, and their three sons. The father and two sons died on the spot. The mother and the other son sustained critical injuries and were first admitted to Hatabharandi Community Health Centre and later shifted to Umarkote Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.
The accident was so severe that the motorcycle was dragged for a long distance under the truck.
Following the accident, the truck driver surrendered at the police station.
Local residents staged a road blockade at the accident site demanding compensation for the victims’ family.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
