3 Naxalites including woman surrendered
Sukma: In Chhattisgarh, Naxalites are continuously giving up their weapons and joining the mainstream. Three Naxalites, including a woman, have surrendered before the police in Naxal-affected Sukma district. The three dedicated Naxalites have surrendered after being influenced by the rehabilitation policy of Chhattisgarh government and the Poona Narkom campaign being run in Sukma.
Giving information, Tongpal SDOP Tomesh Verma said, “3 Naxalites active in Marjum area on the border of Sukma and Dantewada district have surrendered without weapons before SDOP Tongpal Tomesh Verma and CRPF 227 Assistant Commandant Rajesh Kumar Pandey. Dedicated Naxalite Kawasi Chaito KMS member, Madvi Handa RPC treasurer, Madvi Pozja platoon militia member are all residents of Tongpal area.
Tongpal SDOP said that dedicated Naxalites were active in Tongpal area for a long time. All three used to inform the police for Naxalites. He was also involved in many works like cutting roads, holding meetings in the area, supplying Naxal material, sentry duty etc. The three dedicated Naxalites will soon be provided all the benefits under the rehabilitation policy of the Chhattisgarh government.
