3,400 fair price shops will open under the current DMK government: Minister A. Chakravarthy

Tamil Nadu: Minister A. Chakravarthy stated that only 2,536 new fair price shops were opened during the ten-year AIADMK rule, while 3,400 new fair price shops have been opened during the current DMK rule.
On Monday, foundation stone laying ceremonies were held for projects worth approximately ₹7 crore in areas like Korikadavu, Thazhayuthu, Pushpattur, and Midapadi, including cement road construction, sewage canal construction, passenger shed umbrellas, and concrete roads. Food Supply Minister A. Chakravarthy attended as a special guest and inaugurated the work, stating: 2.1 million new family cards have been issued in Tamil Nadu since the DMK government came to power. While only 2,536 new fair price shops were opened during the 10-year AIADMK rule from 2011 to 2021, 3,400 new fair price shops have been opened in the last 58 months of DMK rule.
Additionally, the Kalaignar Kanavu Illa project aims to build 800,000 houses, of which 200,000 have been completed so far. Construction of another 100,000 is underway.
All welfare schemes of the Tamil Nadu government reach everyone, regardless of caste, religion, creed, or party affiliation. He said that several schemes, such as the Artist Dream Home Scheme, the Tamil Son Scheme, and the Women’s Rights Scheme, are proof of this, reaching the public. At the event, more than 50 people from other parties joined the DMK in the minister’s presence. Union Secretary Subramani, former Thoppampatti Panchayat Union President Satya Bhuvana, and District Committee Member Krishnan also attended.
