35 kg silver jewelery worth lakhs of rupees seized

Keeping in view the Lok Sabha elections, as per the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh, on 04.03.24, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit, Thana Mandir Hasaud and Thana Arang Police conducted a surprise checking of vehicles near the toll naka located under Thana Mandir Hasaud area. During checking of Ertiga vehicle number CG/07/BU/8984, it was found that silver jewelery was kept in the bag. On interrogating the person in the vehicle by the team members, the person revealed his name to be Rajesh Soni, resident of Sadar Bazar Durg. When asked about the silver jewelery and asked for valid documents, he was continuously misleading the team members by not presenting any kind of document in relation to the silver jewellery.
On which a total of 35 kg 743 grams of silver jewelery worth approximately Rs 27,52,000/- (twenty-seven lakh fifty-two thousand rupees) was seized from the possession of Rajesh Soni by the team members under Section 102 of IPC. Under this, advance action is being taken by confiscating the police station at Mandir Hasaud. Name of the person – Rajesh Soni, father Chiranji Soni, age 49 years, resident of Sadar Bazar Durg.
