37 buses unfit in school bus checking camp
Bilaspur. Inspection of school buses and health checkup of their drivers/conductors was done by the team of Transport Department, Traffic Police and Health Department at the local police stadium, Bilaspur. On Sunday, 208 school buses were examined on the basis of 16 points as per the instructions of the Supreme Court, in which 171 school buses were found to meet the prescribed standards and 37 buses were found to be unfit. A mitigation fee of Rs 10,000 was deposited in a total of 4 school buses and tax of Rs 23,870 was deposited in 1 school bus. The following deficiencies were found in a total of 37 buses. Permit – 02, without fitness – 02, without safety net, 11 without reflector – 06 and in 16 school buses, fire extinguishers and first aid kit were found to be expired, instructions were given to repair them in 03 days. Health department conducted eye test and B.Sc. examination of all 208 drivers. P. Sugar was tested in which gastro-12, fever-6, skin disease-11, sugar-16 diseases were found.
In the end, Anubhav Sharma, RTO, instructed the present school administrators and drivers/conductors to operate the vehicle as per the instructions of the Supreme Court. Given by Bilaspur. It was also said that if any school bus operator does not operate the vehicle as per the instructions of the Supreme Court, then strict action will be taken against them under the Motor Vehicles Act and all the buses in which deficiencies are found will be rectified within 03 days.
