4 sent to police custody in heroin recovery case

The city police sent four people arrested with 3 kg heroin and Rs 9 lakh drug money to three days’ police custody for further investigation.

Police had arrested Vikramjeet Singh alias Vicky of Lohgarh and Rashpal Singh of Hoshiar Nagar village, Gaurav alias Kali of Variyam Colony and Sahil Kumar alias Manthan of Durgiana Aadi.

While traveling in an all-terrain vehicle (Innova), a police team stopped them after receiving an alert. While Rashpal Singh was facing two criminal cases, the police were verifying the credentials of the remaining three suspects. Police said that the accused are taxi drivers. They were doing research to find blades on the back and front of the rocket. Police are investigating the source of smuggling.

Police teams kept a special vigil in Gol Bagh area located behind the railway station of Amritsar and arrested four suspects when they were about to deliver the heroin consignment across the country.
