41 lakhs stolen by breaking car glass, industrialist shocked
Sonipat: (Haryana) Thieves made away with Rs 41 lakh in cash after breaking the window of an industrialist’s car parked outside the sub-tehsil of Rai village in Sonipat, Haryana. The theft was discovered when the industrialist and his driver returned to the car, prompting them to report the incident to the Rai police station. An investigation has been initiated, with authorities scanning CCTV footage in an attempt to track down the culprits.
Reportedly, Virendra Bansal, an industrialist residing in Gokul Nagar, Sonipat, had parked his car outside Rai sub-tehsil while attending to some errands. A bag containing Rs 41 lakh in cash was left inside the vehicle. During this time, the car driver approached Virendra for a conversation. Seizing the opportunity, the thieves shattered the car’s window and absconded with the bag holding the cash.
The stolen bag also contained important documents. When both the driver and the industrialist returned to the car, they discovered the theft and promptly reported the incident to the police. Rai police station’s team swiftly arrived at the scene and commenced an investigation, filing a case of theft. The authorities are scrutinizing CCTV footage near the area to identify the perpetrators.
Mahendra Singh, in-charge of Rai police station, stated that dedicated police teams have been assembled to locate and apprehend the suspects, assuring that their arrest is imminent.
