6 aides of terrorists arrested, explosives also seized from their possession
kashmir news. Police have arrested 6 aides of terrorists in Avantipora. IEDs, weapons and ammunition along with other explosive materials have been recovered from them. Avantipora police had received information that terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed is identifying such youths who can be motivated to join the terrorist organization. After finding such youths, weapons, ammunition, explosives were being supplied to these youths to carry out terrorist activities. On this information, a case was registered at Tral police station. During the investigation, those youths were arrested who were part of this module.
It was learned that a terrorist from Pakistan, with the help of an OGW in jail, identified several youths who were motivated to join terrorist ranks in Tral area of Avantipora and Kulgam district. The identified youths were provided pistols, grenades, IEDs and other explosive materials to join terrorist ranks. They were instructed to carry out certain terror activities like target killing, throwing grenades on security forces or public places, laying and detonating IEDs before being inducted into the terror ranks.
During the investigation, it was also revealed that the terror handler from Pakistan had selected certain locations to plant IEDs with the help of these youths. The terror handler had also given some money to carry out these acts and to buy material for the manufacture of IEDs. So far, 6 associates of the terrorists have been arrested in the case and a large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives have been recovered from them, including 05 IEDs with remotes, 30 detonators, 17 batteries for IEDs, 02 pistols, 03 pistol magazines, 25 live cartridges of pistols, 04 hand grenades and Rs 20,000 in cash. The investigation is still underway and more arrests and recoveries are likely in the case.
