6 arrested including Kharkharia gambler, police of two police stations raided
Dhamtari. 6 gamblers including Kharkhadia have been arrested. Magarlod police station received information from an informer that people were playing card gambling in the forest behind the liquor shop in village Borsi, on this information, Magarlod police immediately went to the place mentioned by the informer and surrounded the forest behind the liquor shop in village Borsi and caught them red handed while playing a game of playing cards by betting on win or loss with money in a public place. Rs. 11,010/- cash and 04 mobile phones worth Rs. 19,000/-, 02 scooters, 04 motorcycles worth Rs. 2,10,000/-, total worth Rs. 2,40,010/- and 52 cards were seized from the possession of 05 gamblers and a case was registered in Magarlod police station under crime no. 06/25 Crime was registered under Section 03(2) CG Gambling Prohibition Act 2022 and legal action was taken.

Along with this, information was received from the informer that in the area of police station Kurud, near the village Bhusrenga market square, in a public place near the stage, gambling/satta called Kharkhariya is being played by placing bets of money on the win or loss of money in various symbols and pictures. On receiving the information, a person was caught by cordoning off the area and the rest of the players ran away after seeing the police. On asking the name and address of the arrested person, he told his name as Manharan Sahu father Bhupat age 52 years. Resident of S. Kurra Police Station Kurud District Dhamtari (CG) from whose possession cash amount of Rs. 10,500/- and material for playing Khadkhadia, a plastic flax board (chessboard), 06 pieces of square marbles in which square shaped bricks, paan, spades, chidi, flag, munda and one piece basket were seized and legal action is being taken by registering crime number 15/25 section 6 (a) CG Gambling Prohibition Act 2022 against the gambler in Police Station Kurud.
