75 children fall ill after eating mid day meal, admitted to hospital
Bihar: On one hand, in Bihar, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department keeps issuing new orders regarding better arrangements. But, despite this, the problem related to mid day meal still does not seem to be resolved. In this context, a fresh case is now coming to light from Sitamarhi. Where the health of 75 children deteriorated after the mid-day meal. After which these people were admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment.
According to the information received, the health of 75 children fell ill after eating mid-day meal in the middle school of Dumra block. After this, the children were loaded on tempo and ambulance and taken to Dumra PHC and Sadar Hospital. Regarding this, the PHC in-charge said that about 50 children were treated there. 25 children were brought to Sadar Hospital for treatment.
It is being told that after receiving complaints of vomiting, stomach ache and headache, the children were loaded on tempo and ambulance and taken to Dumra PHC and Sadar Hospital. On receiving the information, the villagers reached the school and created a ruckus. Seeing the anger, the teachers and cooks of the school ran away. Police and departmental officers of Dumra police station reached the spot and pacified everyone.
In this matter, DPO MDM Ayush Kumar says that food was being served to the children around 1.30 o’clock. After which a rumor spread that a lizard had been found in the food, or that something had fallen from the tree under which the food was being served. After this the children started falling ill. On receiving the information, he arrived at around 3 o’clock to investigate. Food is provided to the children class wise. Initially, food was being provided to the children of first class. Soybeans, potatoes and rice were on the menu. Altogether 179 children were present.
PHC in-charge Dr. Akshay Kumar said that about 50 children have been treated here. Of these, seven were referred to Sadar Hospital. Here, according to Saurav Kumar, Emergency Incharge of Sadar Hospital, 25 children were brought to them for treatment. Everyone was treated and given medicine. All the children brought to PHC and Sadar Hospital were found healthy and sent to their homes by ambulance. Doctors said that there is nothing to worry about now.
