Kutch: More than 80 kg of drugs worth crores of rupees have been recovered in Gandhidham of Kutch district of Gujarat. Its value in the international market is said to be more than Rs 800 crore. These drugs were found abandoned on the sea shore. Initial investigation by FSL has revealed that it is cocaine.
Police said that cocaine was found in 80 packets on the banks of the creek near Gandhidham city. The weight of each packet is one kilogram. Kutch-East Division Superintendent of Police Sagar Bagmar said that perhaps the smugglers left the drugs here due to fear of being caught and ran away, because the police was keeping an eye on the place. SP Sagar Bagmar said that information was received regarding the delivery of drugs consignment. After this the police team intensified the search operation. During this time we recovered 80 packets of cocaine from the sea shore. Their price is Rs 800 crore.
According to Bagmar, the packets recovered near Gandhidham on Thursday have no connection with the packets found earlier. It looks like these have been packed recently. These packets are part of the same consignment which we were tracking after the information. Let us tell you that the Border Security Force (BSF) and other agencies have recovered packets filled with heroin and cocaine several times from the coast near Jakhau near Pakistan in the last two years. When investigation was done here, it was found that to avoid being caught, the smugglers had thrown the packets of drugs into the sea, after which they were washed ashore.
