9 thousand sarees seized from the truck, police is interrogating the owner and the driver
Korba. Police have seized a large quantity of sarees in Urga police station area. Whose price is said to be around Rs 23 lakh. The investigation into who ordered the saree and who is its owner is ongoing.
During the investigation last night, when the police stopped a truck and looked at the back, they found that the entire vehicle was filled with sarees.
Police found 9000 sarees in the truck. The sarees were confiscated due to the truck driver not being able to give a satisfactory answer and not showing the required documents.
Police suspect that these sarees were ordered for distribution to lure voters in the elections. However, the police have seized both the vehicle and the saree under Section 102.
Let us tell you that on October 29 itself, the police had seized a huge quantity of sarees from a truck under Singhoda police station in Mahasamund. The price of the sarees was said to be around Rs 1 crore.
The police team was checking vehicles at Rehtikhol check point of Singhoda police station area. During investigation, police had recovered 16 thousand pieces of sarees from Eicher truck number MH 04 LE 5608 coming from Odisha. Apart from this, police have seized a large quantity of sarees from various districts including Janjgir, Bilaspur, Raigarh.
