2 trains canceled due to heavy rain in Nilgiri, relief operation continues after cyclone
Nilgiris: In view of heavy rains in the state, two trains from Mettupalayam to Mettupalayam have been cancelled, Railways informed on Thursday.
Train No. 06136, scheduled to depart from Mettupalayam to Udagamandalam at 07.10 am on December 8, has been cancelled.
Train No. 06137 scheduled to depart from Udagamandalam for Mettupalayam at 14.00 hrs on 8th December has been cancelled.
“Full ticket fare will be refunded to passengers of canceled train services,” the Railways said.
The state of Tamil Nadu is going through the aftermath of Cyclone Michong. Chennai is the most affected city, where many areas are flooded. Cyclone Michong made landfall in Tamil Nadu earlier this month, causing heavy rains, strong winds and damage to infrastructure and homes, apart from loss of life and property.
