Aunt strangled four year old child to death

Chittoor: A four-year-old boy was strangled to death by his relative in Kozhinjampara Vannamada in Palakkad. The deceased is Hrithik, son of Madhusudan and Athira. The accused is Deepti Das (29), wife of Madhusudan’s elder brother Balakrishnan. Family members told that he was undergoing treatment for mental illness. After committing the murder, Deepthi injured herself with a weapon and was admitted to Thrissur Medical College Hospital.

The incident happened last night. Madhusudan’s mother Padmavati was admitted to a private hospital in Kozhinjampara due to fever. After this, Athira left her son Hrithik with Deepti and her five-year-old daughter and then went to the hospital. When they returned at night, the house was locked. Knocked the door but it did not open. Meanwhile, Deepti’s daughter somehow opened the back door. The couple who came from the hospital saw Hrithik lying unconscious inside. Deepti Das was found lying soaked in blood nearby. The boy was immediately taken to a private hospital in Nattukal, but by then he was dead.
