Donated organs of 40 year old brain dead man
Hyderabad: The family members of journalist Kommu Satyanarayana, 40, of Velkatte village in Torrur mandal of Warangal, who was declared brain dead by a team of neuromedical assistants, decided to donate the organs of the deceased. As per Jehovah’s organ donation guidelines, surgeons recovered five organs, including two kidneys, a liver and two corneas, and donated them to needy patients in other transplant centres. On December 11, the daily routine at his home collapsed and he was immediately rushed to Hospital Kamineni, LB Nagar, where he was kept in intensive care for 24 hours. However, despite efforts, the journalist’s health condition did not improve and on 12 December, Satyanarayan was declared suffering from cerebral palsy. After a series of counseling sessions led by Jeevandaan coordinators, his father Kommu Venkayya and his wife Kommu Bhagyalakshmi gave their consent for the donation of the brain death victim’s organs.
