Iran cancels visa requirements for 33 countries including India
Dubai: The Iranian government said it has removed visa requirements for 33 countries, including India, the Tourism Minister said.
The visa requirement has been waived for 33 countries, including Lebanon, Tunisia, India, Saudi Arabia and several Central Asian, African and Muslim countries.
The Tourism Ministry’s proposal to cancel visas for some countries has been approved by the government,” said Ezatollah Zarghami, Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts.
Zarghami said the decision was aimed at boosting tourism arrivals and attracting more visitors from countries around the world.
He also said that Iran would neutralize Iranophobia projects, and by waiving the visa requirement, hopes to attract more foreign tourists.
According to Iranian media, for the first time in eight years, pilgrims will begin their regular journey to Saudi Arabia from December 19.
