40 tons of illegal eucalyptus wood seized from trucks

Batauli. The Forest Department, taking major action against wood smugglers, caught 40 tonnes of illegal eucalyptus shells loaded in two trucks near Batauli Samrat Petrol Pump. Its estimated price is said to be Rs 2.5 lakh. The seized wood and truck have been kept in Sitapur Forest Department. Forest Department Ranger Vijay Tiwari said that information was received from the informer that 17 pieces of Nilgiri shells were found in two truck number UP 21 CP 8111 from Gram Panchayat Tedga of Batauli development block, its driver Mohammad Haseeb resident of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh and truck number HR 55 A. In D 6127, 112 pieces of Nilgiri shells were being transported in both the trucks by driver Abdul Waris, resident of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, to Shahzad Enterprises Wood Mill, Jaspur, Uttarakhand, which was seized while taking action. The estimated price of which is said to be Rs 2.5 lakh.

In relation to the wood, the drivers had a sealed paper of Gram Panchayat Tedga Sarpanch Dev Kumar lying with them, in which the number of the wood was mentioned as 129 pieces. Apart from this, both the drivers did not have any valid document in relation to the wood. was not. A case has also been registered by the Forest Department against the drivers at Batauli police station. In this regard, Sitapur Forest Range Officer Vijay Tiwari said that 40 tonnes of Nilgiri wood was loaded in two trucks from Gram Panchayat Tedga of Batauli and was being taken to Shahzad Enterprises Wood Mill in Jaspur, Uttarakhand, due to which the wood along with the truck was not having valid documents. It has been seized and action has been taken. The wood was loaded into the truck by the wood smugglers in a Hydra vehicle in two days. Investigation is being done by the Forest Department for further action.
