Vijayawada: Excel in sports, polytechnic students told
Vijayawada: Technical Education Commissioner Chadalwada Nagrani said that we can achieve the desired goals only if we show versatility in the present competitive world.
Inaugurating the 26th Inter-Polytechnic Sports and Games Meet at Vijayawada Government Polytechnic College on Monday, he urged the students to showcase their talent not only in academics but also in sports.
Receiving the Games torch from the home team, Nagrani announced the start of the Games by releasing a dove.
On this occasion, the Commissioner said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, necessary steps are being taken to increase sports facilities in all government polytechnics. He said that through sports, students can relieve their mental pressure and concentrate more on education.
In these sports competitions, 508 athletes from 19 polytechnic colleges of Krishna region are competing to show their ability. The competition is organized in a total of 18 types of sports.
The program was attended by Council of Technical Education and Training Secretary KV Raman Babu, Principal Secretary Janaki Ramaiah, Regional Joint Director JSN Murthy, Deputy Directors K Vijayabhaskar, MAV Ramakrishna, College Principal Dr M Vijayasaradhi and others.
