Awarded for better performance in crime-criminal network tracking-system
Shimla. Himachal Pradesh Police has secured first position in Crime and Criminal Network Tracking and System (CCTNS) performance for the year 2023. The Home Ministry honored Himachal Pradesh Police in the two-day Good Practices CCTNS/ICJS Annual Conference held from December 21, 2023 in New Delhi.
Congratulating the police department for this remarkable achievement, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that Himachal Pradesh Police has stood first in CCTNS performance in the hilly areas and North-Eastern states for the fourth consecutive year.
The Chief Minister said that the State Police has achieved this feat by going ahead of many states in CCTNS demonstration.
He said that this achievement has been achieved by the dedicated and collective efforts of all field level police officers and state level CCTNS team under SCRB under the able guidance of senior officers involved in the implementation of the CCTNS project. Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for his constant inspiration and help in improving the functioning of the police department.
He said that to monitor the CCTNS project implementation performance of all the States/Union Territories of the country, Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, National Crime Records Bureau, New Delhi have decided State-wise CCTNS Performance Ranking based on predefined parameters.
Himachal has ensured its successful implementation by fulfilling all the state standards related to CCTNS project. He said that CCTNS is the backbone of police functioning in India and Himachal Pradesh Police has been at the top position in it this year also like in the year 2020, 2021 and 2022.
