TSRTC to induct 200 new diesel buses by Sankranti
Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) on Friday, December 22, announced that 200 new diesel-powered buses will be inducted by the Sankranti festival.
Sankranti is scheduled to be celebrated on January 15, 2024. TSRTC MD VC Sajjanar said that under this, 50 buses will be launched in a week.
On Friday, Sajjanar along with other TSRTC officials inspected these new Lahari Sleeper cum Seater, Rajdhani AC, Express buses at the city bus building.
The TSRTC MD asked officials to expedite the process of inclusion as there has been a serious increase in the number of passengers due to the free travel scheme for women.

“The TSRTC management has decided to purchase new buses to provide better, quality services to passengers. As part of this, more than 2000 new buses will be inducted in the next 4-5 months, of which 400-express, 512-palle Velugu and 92-Lahari sleeper cum seater and 56-A/C Rajdhani buses will be inducted. 540 electric buses for Hyderabad city and 500 buses for other parts of Telangana. We plan to have all these buses on the road by the end of March 2024,” he informed.
He further said that these new buses will be equipped with many features to provide better, quality services to the public. “These buses will have LED destination boards and Fire Detection Suppression System (FDSS),” he said.
