Mamata Banerjee said these things while targeting the central government
North 24 Parganas: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday targeted the BJP and said that the Bharat Alliance will trouble the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing a rally, the Bengal Chief Minister said, “No agenda, no leadership and no strategy… Bharat Alliance will contest on all seats across the country.”
Mamata Banerjee said that although the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) keeps announcing in its election campaigns that they will give five kilograms of rice to all the poor, her state government has been giving free ration since the beginning of its tenure in 2021.
Speaking at a public meeting in Chakla in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district, the Chief Minister said, “During elections, the BJP announces that they will give 5 kg rice, but we have been giving it since the beginning….”
Mamata said that although the Central government has stopped the flow of funds to West Bengal, the state government has kept the MNREGA scheme running for 45 days from its coffers.
“The central government has stopped all the funds received by the state. They did not even pay those who worked for 100 days. We, under the initiative of the state government, have kept it running for 45 days in all respects, so that people can earn their livelihood,” he said.
Listing the welfare measures initiated by her government, Mamata said, “After forming the government in 2021, we have given free ration, Swasthya Sathi card, Lakshmi Bhandar as promised. We have started giving smart cards to the students as promised. “Each student received a Sabuj Sathi bicycle when she was in class 9 and a smart phone in class 12.”
Speaking on the schemes run by her government for women empowerment, Mamata said, “We give Rs 25000 to poor women, irrespective of religion or community, if they are unmarried. Under Kanyashree Scheme, after studying till the age of 18 years, girl students if they are unmarried then they get Rs 25000 in their bank account.
Today women do not need to worry. They are the pride of our society. Scholarships are given when women are in 12th grade and even when they are in college or university.”
He said, “Tribals are getting Shikhashri; Muslims are getting Oikashree. Scholarship for OBC has stopped. We have started Medashree for them.”
Addressing her party cadre in North 24 Parganas, Mamata said, “North 24 Parganas is at the heart of Trinamool Congress. You have given birth to us and shown us the path from the beginning.”
Emphasizing that Trinamool Congress is no place for party thugs who consider themselves big men, Mamata said, “If someone is heartbroken and is locked in his house because of a local fight, So they should come forward. I will not allow any fight.” .I have to work for the people 365 days. If someone thinks that he has become a big man and instead of loving the party, he will concentrate on his work, then this will not be tolerated.
“Trinamool’s work is not to serve itself but to serve the people. Trinamool Congress family belongs to the people. You should keep this in mind. If you think you are a big player and you won’t pay attention to what anyone else says, that’s not how it’s done.” The party chief said, “Nobody decides for himself whether his stature has grown or not.”
Asking party workers to mingle with people and help them, Mamata said, “One has to mingle with people, love them and stand by them in difficult times throughout the year. Those who are in Gram Sabha, Panchayat Samiti, Zilla Parishad should complete their work. The ministers should go to their districts and meet the people. They can also discuss at the tea stall.”
