Ludhiana: Police in Jagraon have arrested three suspects, including two women, on charges of liquor smuggling. Both these women were smuggling illegal liquor from their homes. The local police arrested both of them from different places. During this period, 88 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from their owners. Prakash Kaur had allegedly opened an illicit liquor shop in his house after the death of his wife. To earn his living, he started selling illicit liquor in front of his house. As soon as the information was received, the officers of Seydwanbati Police Station immediately arrested him. During this period, 31 bottles of moonshine were found there.
Another accused woman Manjeet Kaur also used to sell illegal liquor outside her house. Based on confidential information, the police arrested the woman accused of selling liquor to customers. During this, 21 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from Manjeet Kaur. Meanwhile, the third accused named Akhtar Singh Tari used to order liquor from outside the state at a low price and deliver it to people’s homes on foot without permission. During the arrest, 36 bottles of liquor were recovered from there.
