Andhra HC tells TTD: Implement WII report for pilgrims’ safety

Vijayawada: The AP High Court on Wednesday directed Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), forest department and Wildlife Institute of India (WII) to hold a joint meeting and directed TTD to prepare an action plan for implementation of the WII report. already submitted. Hearing a PIL filed by BJP leader G Bhanu Prakash Reddy, a division bench of Chief Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur and Justice R Raghunandan Rao sought court directions for construction of iron fence along the footpath from Alipiri to Tirumala. Reminded TTD that it is the responsibility of implementing WII recommendations in the interest of pilgrims. Furthermore, the custodian of the Tirumala hill temple was directed to submit details of long-term plans for the safety of pilgrims.
