Will ask Center to announce award for ‘Captain’ Vijayakanth: CP Radhakrishnan

Chennai: Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Thursday paid floral tributes to the portrait of late actor-turned-politician Captain Vijayakanth at his residence in Virugambakkam.

Radhakrishnan also expressed condolences to Vijayakanth’s wife and DMDK general secretary Premalatha.

CP Radhakrishnan told reporters here, “The demise of DMDK leader and famous Kollywood actor Captain Vijayakanth is very sad. Vijayakanth’s absence has deeply saddened all good-hearted people. Vijayakanth never shied away from working for the poor and needy. Left.”

Furthermore, the Governor of Jharkhand said, “Installing the statue of Captain Vijayakanth is welcome. The Central Government will be requested to announce the award to veteran actor Vijayakanth.”
