BHARAT BASNET: Only cap can protect Sikkim’s special identity
Gangtok, Veteran politician Bharat Basnet joins Citizen Action Party (CAP) Sikkim during the party’s public meeting program in Pakyong on Tuesday. CAP Sikkim President LP Kafle and Chief Coordinator Ganesh Rai welcomed him into the party in the presence of party officials and workers.
In his address, Bharat Basnet shared that he had been observing CAP Sikkim since its formation about a year ago and found that the party remains true to its founding objectives and principles. He said that CAP has come forward to work for Sikkim and Sikkimese at a time when the identity of Sikkim is in danger due to the wrong policies of the state government.
“Due to the past and present governments, the rights and special identity of Sikkimese are facing serious threats. It is only CAP that can protect the special identity of Sikkim and I am joining this party as a member to give my all for Sikkim,” Basnet said.
Addressing the gathering, CAP Sikkim President LP Kafle argued that till now the ruling political parties have been holding Sikkim hostage, which has put Sikkim in a critical situation over the years. He said, our party is moving forward to save the state from the dangerous situation and rebuild Sikkim.
In his address, CAP Sikkim Chief Coordinator Ganesh Rai strongly criticized both the past and present state governments on various fronts. He said, Sikkim is facing international criticism today because of SDF and SKM. He urged the people to support CAP Sikkim to develop Sikkim as an efficient and corruption free state.
