Naxalite with reward in custody of police, has been involved in many incidents

Bijapur: As part of the anti-Naxal campaign being conducted in the district, Kutru police has arrested a Naxalite carrying a reward of ten thousand rupees from Ketulnar.

According to the information received from the police, on Thursday, a squad under the leadership of the station in-charge from Kutru police station of Bhairamgarh block had gone towards Ketulnar for area domination and patrolling.

Meanwhile, a Jan Militia member Linga Kunjam (32) of Gadhameripara Ketulnar was caught from the forest of Ketulnar. According to the police, on November 28, 2023, he was involved in the incident of planting IED on Darbha Kachcha road with the intention of causing harm to the police party. The arrested Naxalite was involved in the murder of a villager of Ketulnar Gadhameripara on 11 January 2022 and the incident of arson of a Haiwa vehicle transporting ballast near Mangapeta on 4 February 2023.

A reward of Rs 10,000 was announced by the Superintendent of Police, Bijapur for the arrest of the captured Naxalite. After legal action was taken against the arrested Naxalite in Kutru police station, he has been produced in the court in Bijapur on judicial remand.
