Netizens criticized Harmanpreet Kaur

Former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh on Sunday criticized women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur for blaming teammate Shreyanka Patil for the loss against Australia in the second T20I. Australia needed 15 runs from the last two overs to chase a target of 131 against India at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai when 21-year-old off-spinner Patil was brought into the attack by Harmanpreet.

Shreyanka Patil was out after scoring 17 runs in the 19th over.

But Patil could not stop the flow of runs from the bat of Ellyse Perry and Phoebe Litchfield, who scored 17 runs in the final over to seal a 6-wicket win for Australia, leveling the three-match series at 1-1.

After the match, Harmanpreet was asked about the reasons for India’s failed attempt to defend 130, and he blamed the 19th over bowled by Patil.

Harmanpreet blamed it on Patil

“I think the score was not high enough on the board but our bowlers performed really well. We took it till the 19th over, that was the biggest positive.

Harmanpreet said, “In the 19th over, if Shreyanka had been on target, it would have made a huge difference for us. But yes, these are things we need to do. “We have seen games like this for a long time.” Post-match presentation.

India captain criticized for his comments

But his comment did not go down well with Ganesh, who played 4 Tests and 1 ODI for India in 1997. The 50-year-old felt that the Indian women’s captain should not have blamed such a young cricketer.

Ganesh tweeted, “Throwing a 19 year old kid under the bus is not #INDvAUS.” Netizens were also not impressed by Harmanpreet’s comment about Shreyanka and took to Twitter to criticize the captain.

Australia leveled the series by 1 in Mumbai

India scored 130 runs for 8 wickets on the board when the Australian team was invited to bat first. Deepti Sharma top-scored with 30 but the rest failed to perform well against Annabel Sutherland (2/18), Georgia Wareham (2/17) and Kim Garth (2/27) on a slow pitch.

After this, Australia crossed the finish line with 6 balls remaining with the help of Ellyse Perry’s brilliant innings of 34 unbeaten runs. This was also Perry’s 300th international match, which he celebrated by hitting the winning six off the last ball of Patil.
